The House that is called ‘KOODARATHIL’

The word Koodaram and koodarathil is profusely used in the length and breadth of the Holy Bible. Skirting on the side of the Pampa river and enjoying the vehicular access of the Mannar- Veeyapuram Road there is house called Koodarathil in the rice bowl of Kuttanad , localized at Melpadam. Adjusting itself with the bitter floods caused by the heavy Mansoon season and the ferocious high winds and the gales, Melpadam remains in the glory that is called ‘SasyaSamalaKomala’ landscape. Melpadam enjoys a unique position not only in the field of agriculture but also in the area of education.

On account of the unflinching devotional allegiance to God Almighty and tough manual labor, Koodarathil house is flourishing on all sides. On account of the incessant prayers from all our forefathers ,Koodarathil family could give worthy sons as Priests to the spiritual world and eminent learners to the field of education. Those who join this family by way of marriage and those who are given in marriage to other families, carry the pride and prestige of Koodarathil family.

It is from this family that the locals and the family fondly called ‘Soman’ becomes E.John Mathew. Earning richly from the class rooms and making himself the shining lamp of academic prowess, Soman becomes Prof. E. John Mathew. Shifting from fromMelpadam to Devalokam in Kottayam and establishing a permanent stay at ‘Koodarathil’ there, Prof E. John Mathew mesmerized his class rooms with his sharp and modulated teaching techniques. Putting his best and keeping his head always high, he could steer the destinies of all the Colleges where he served as Principal. Soman lives even today carrying the lamp of unblinking lights to his family members and to all around.

On this auspicious day when in the name of the Koodarathil family and in the name of Prof. E.John Mathew the ‘ Green Field Foundation ‘ is formally inaugurated, we hope and pray that this foundation will be a lodestar for those in the field of education, both present and yet to come!.

Testimonials

  • Respected John Mathew Sir, I am grateful that you are my teacher. You have taught me so much and I Ĩook up to you as a role model. You are the great teacher I've ever had! You teach with passion and enthusiasm. You love what you do. You always make class rooms which in turn makes it easy to learn. The success of a student largely depends upon the efforts of a teacher and therefore I dedicate my success to you. Whenever there was darkness, you were there to show me the right path in life. Without you, we would have been lost. Thank you Sir, for guiding us, inspiring, us, and making us what we are today.
